Committee
Since 2018, the European Young Bar Association (EYBA) has held participatory status at the Conference of International Non-Governmental Organisations (CINGO) of the Council of Europe. This recognition enables EYBA to contribute meaningfully to the Council’s work, particularly in areas impacting young legal professionals across Europe.
To support this engagement, the EYBA Executive Committee established a dedicated working group. This sub-committee focuses on:
- Monitoring developments within the Council of Europe, especially those relevant to the not-for-profit sector
- Preparing and submitting contributions on behalf of EYBA
- Representing EYBA at the Council’s annual sessions and related events
This initiative ensures EYBA remains an active and informed participant in shaping legal and civil society discourse at the European level.

Mehmet Firat Can Harac
Attorney at the Istanbul Bar, Turkey
Mehmet Fırat Can HARAÇ is a registered attorney at the Istanbul Bar and has served as a Regional Representative there for five years. His practice focuses on Criminal Law and Human Rights, and he is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Public Law. Fırat is actively engaged in the field of extradition of offenders, having contributed to scholarly works and presented at conferences across Europe.

Ross is a lawyer based in Belfast, specialising in banking and finance law. Alongside his professional practice, he maintains a strong interest in human rights and international relations, supported by experience at Strasbourg and engagement with international legal institutions.
Recept Birer
Throughout my education life which was between 2012 and 2016 in Istanbul Universty Law Faculty, I have been involved in many educational and social activities in order to improve myself as a person who is open to learning and determined. Whitefield Solicitors Ltd., located in Manchester, to see English Law practices and gain experience after undergraduate education. I worked in the company for 9 months. Then I returned to Turkey and completed my law internship and got my license. I am actively practicing my profession together with our employees in my office that I have established in 2018. As an office, we carry out our studies mainly on Criminal Law, Sports Law, Energy Law, Companies and Contracts Law.
For EYBA, We organized the Spring Conference in Istanbul in March 2024. I thought the program was well-attended and enjoyable, and I actively contributed to making the event enjoyable and fulfilling by meeting with venues and organizing the field, along with my other colleagues in the organization.

Chiara is a lawyer with a robust foundation in employment law and a deep commitment to international legal collaboration. Her professional journey includes advisory roles in the labour departments at EY and before at Gianni & Origoni in Rome where she advised clients on a wide range of labor law matters, including workforce restructuring, compliance, and litigation. Currently based in Dubai, Chiara is pursuing an LLM in International Dispute Resolution at the University of Birmingham, with a focus on cross-border arbitration, mediation, and conflict resolution. Her academic and professional pursuits reflect a passion for fostering global dialogue and advancing legal excellence.
Roberto Vieira
Roberto Luz Vieira is a Portuguese-qualified lawyer based in Albufeira, with experience in International Law, International Relations and Human Rights.
Graduated by the University of Lisbon in 2019, he recently established his own practice as a sole practitioner in 2025.
Fatih Ozdemir
Fatih Özdemir is a seasoned Legal and Compliance Counsel with a robust background in Energy Law, IT Law, Administrative Law, Corporate, and Compliance. Currently serving as the Coordinator at YASED International Investors Association, Fatih is known for his dynamic keynote speaking abilities, engaging and informing diverse audiences with his in-depth knowledge and innovative legal strategies. His extensive experience spans handling complex legal issues for well-known companies and organizations, demonstrating a commitment to the legal profession through his various publications, lectures, and presentations. Fatih is particularly focused on introducing new areas of law and advancing the recognition of in-house legal and compliance counsel as a specialized profession. His expertise includes developing comprehensive strategies for corporate establishment and compliance systems, ensuring alignment with local and international regulations. Awarded the ‘Rising Star’ for Türkiye in 2023 by The Legal 500, Fatih’s legal prowess is recognized nationally.
