On 3 October 2018 the European Young Bar Association entered into the cooperation agreement the Union of Young Lawyers of Russia.
The meeting took place in Zurich with the support by the Swiss Section of the German and Russian Bar Association in the office of the law firm of the President of the latter, Dr. Paul Peyrot.
Earlier that week the delegation of the Russian lawyers presided by the Chair of the Union of Young Lawyers of Russia Mrs Alexandra Tsvetkova has taken part in the Legal Week, organised by the Swiss Russian Chamber of Commerce and the Swiss Bar Association. The European Young Bar Association was represented by Nonna Pietsch-Leontyeva, the Immediate Past President of the EYBA.
The European Young Bar Association brings together young bar associations from across Europe, providing a unified voice for young lawyers. It is part of the International Bar Association and is a member of the Commission of INGOs at the Council of Europe. This year the association is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
The Union of Young Lawyers of Russia was officially founded on 19 April 2018, and has since then been very active at both Russian and international legal community. It is widely supported by the Federal Bar Association of Russia.
