Spring Conference 2019 – Chisinau

This spring, the annual European Young Bar Association (EYBA) Spring Conference comes to Chisinau, the Republic of Moldova, from Thursday, April 4th until Sunday, April 7th 2019. The theme of the event will be “The harmonization and appropriation of the national legislation with the European Community Acquis”.

This years edition will be special since it is the first time that the Conference will be held in Chisinau, bringing together young lawyers from Western and Eastern European countries and bridge the network and foster future collaboration.

This event is sponsored by the United States of America Embassy in Chisinau and by the European Union within its ‘Eastern Partnership Civil Society Facility – Regional Action’ Project

CHISINAU

Chisinau is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Moldova, a small country landlocked between Romania and Ukraine. Moldova is often characterized as “off the beaten track tourist destinations”, being qualified as “rich in culture and viticulture”. Chisinau is easily accessible from most European cities and is perfect for a weekend city trip.

Chisinau International Airport, Republic of Moldova

Chisinau International Airport is Moldova’s main international airport, located 13 km southeast of the centre of Chisinau, the capital city. Please check www.airport.md/homepage-en/ for flight information.

Getting to and from the airport

By taxi. A taxi from the airport to the centre of Chisinau costs approximately 100 MDL (about 6 Euro).  We highly recommend using official taxi operators or taxi apps, instead of taking taxis from the street.

Taxi apps: iTaxi Center, Yandex Taxi, Taxi Chisinau.

By bus/minibus. A shuttle bus runs from the airport to the city centre every 15 minutes at the price of 3 MDL (about 0,20 Euro) per trip.

By trolleybus. Trolleybuses run from the airport to the city centre every 25-30 minutes between 6AM and 11PM. A  trolleybus trip costs 2 MDL (about 0.15 Euro).

From Iasi, Romania

Iasi city is located in Romania, on the western border of the Republic of Moldova, about 150 km from Chisinau.

You can travel from Iasi to Chisinau by bus. It takes about 4 hours and costs about 8 Euro. Please find the schedule here https://autogara.md/index.html#.

From Bucharest, Romania

Bucharest, the capital of Romania is located about 450 km from Chisinau.

Buses from Bucharest to Chisinau run every hour. The journey takes about 8 hours and costs about 20 Euro. You can find the schedule online https://autogara.md/index.html#.
